The EDPS is not competent for issues on the national level. Questions about these issues should be addressed to the competent data protection authority in the relevant Member State. The EDPS will refer to these authorities where necessary.

  • Please note that in 2016 our premises will be closed on 26-30 December. In 2017, our premises will be closed on:
    2 January; 13-17 April; 1, 9, 25 and 26 May; 5 June; 21 July; 15 August; 1-2 November; 25-29 December.

Important security information

The EDPS is committed to ensure high level of security for the information communicated to us. In particular the on-line contact form uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) to secure the communication over the internet network. However, please be aware that communication by internet, including email, is not fully secure and information transferred can be potentially intercepted and accessed by persons external to the EDPS. Please also note that the EDPS IT infrastructure is managed by the European Parliament and is subject to security measures of the European Parliament, which are implemented by the Parliament independently of the EDPS and over which the EDPS has no control.
